IN THE MEDIA

NAMI Chicago's Executive Director, Alexa James, published an op ed piece in the Chicago Tribune. Advocating for a consent decree, she encourages the city to more fully support Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training and other mental health services. CIT trained police officers are better equipped to de-escalate situations involving individuals experiencing a mental illness.
