The NAMI Chicago Associate Board is a group of young professionals dedicated to advancing NAMI Chicago's overarching mission of combating stigma through education, vigorous advocacy, and the promotion of hope. By engaging younger audiences and diverse neighborhoods across the Chicagoland area, the Associate Board amplifies NAMI Chicago’s impact through dynamic networking events, facilitated discussions, and enriching wellness experiences. Together, we cultivate meaningful connections that empower individuals and strengthen our communities, fostering a culture of understanding and support around mental health.
How can you join the Associate Board?
If you are between the ages of 22 and 39, have a passion for ending the stigma associated with mental illness and addiction, understand that this is public health issue that is impacting everyone in our communities, and have some time and energy to dedicate to this cause – we want you!
Joining this associates board will give you an opportunity to learn about the field, network with professionals and leaders doing the work, get involved in being part of the solution, and network and grow in your own industries. Consider applying below!
Our Member Requirements
Recommended Age range – 22 to 39
Committed to attend five meetings per year
Ability to fundraise a give-get of $750/annually
Willingness to engage in social and community activities, including NAMIWalks and our annual Light the Darkness gala
Support hosting associate board member recruitment and fundraising events
Enhance and amplify NAMI Chicago’s development strategy
