Teri McKean joined the NAMI Chicago team in April 2024 as the Director of Crisis and Support Operations. Teri has many years of experience in mental health care management, crisis response, treatment and advocacy in the non-profit sector including in healthcare and child welfare.

Teri’s recent work has been with individuals in the perinatal period and their families who are dealing with mental health concerns. This work includes management of the MOMS line, a 24/7 crisis line available to anyone in the state of Illinois. Teri is also an adjunct instructor with the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign School of Social Work. Teri received her Master of Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Teri is an avid reader, relies on the outdoors for her mental health, and is raising 4 kids with her husband in Skokie. Teri is committed to provide high quality response and support to those who seek out NAMI resources.
